Under the terms of the agreement, ExxonMobil will transport and permanently store up to 2.2 million metric tons of carbon dioxide each year from Linde’s hydrogen production facility, equivalent to the emissions from nearly half a million cars per year.

The Asian nation will consider updating its basic hydrogen strategy from 2017, with a target to use roughly 12 million tons of the fuel source by 2040, according to a proposal from a panel in Cabinet Secretariat held on Tuesday.

Throughout the testing period, the Wärtsilä engine continued to supply power to the grid. This is the largest commercially operated flexible balancing engine ever to run on a hydrogen fuel blend, representing a world-first achievement. 

During a presentation titled Dual challenge: Accelerating energy transition while ensuring energy security, Baker Hughes Chairman and CEO Lorenzo Simonelli, PETRONAS President and CEO Tengku Muhammad Taufik, Linde CEO Sanjiv Lamba and S&P Global Senior V.P. Atul Arya discussed the major problem surrounding the uncertainty of the pace of technological development/deployment and the time required to reach scale.

The initiatives include potential collaboration in green/blue hydrogen and fuel ammonia development, carbon capture and storage, as well as greenhouse gas emissions management.

The AWS Clean Energy Accelerator aims to foster innovation and rapid growth of clean energy technology, which is needed to address the global climate crisis.

The hydrogen produced by Essar would be used at the Stanlow refinery and sold to other nearby industrial companies. Future investments would go to cutting emissions at the refinery, and a hub in India to produce hydrogen from renewable electricity.

ExxonMobil’s low-carbon hydrogen, ammonia, and carbon capture facility is expected to generate up to 1 billion ft3 of hydrogen per day, delivering low-carbon fuel to the Baytown olefins plant and other Houston-area facilities.

The hydrogen partnership announced by the two groups last year “hasn’t been signed, and won’t be signed for the moment,” TotalEnergies Chief Executive Officer Patrick Pouyanne said at an earnings presentation near Paris on 2/8. “We’ll wait for the results of the audits.”

The agreements will secure the majority of the power needed for the existing manufacturing activities and also the additional power required for planned investments into electrification and hydrogen production as part of INEOS Inovyn Norway's plans to decarbonize its assets in Norway.

Equinor awarded a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract the low-carbon hydrogen production plan H2H Saltend to Linde Engineering. Equinor also awarded an operation and maintenance service contract to Linde company BOC.  

The low-carbon hydrogen, ammonia and carbon capture facility in Baytown, Texas, will produce 1 billion ft. of low-carbon hydrogen per day. It will also capture over 98% of related CO2 emissions, which is around 7 million metric tons per year.

The “Wind At Our Backs” campaign will create awareness of the vast potential for wind developments and green hydrogen production in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Masdar has signed joint development agreements with the State Oil Company of the Republic of Azerbaijan for onshore wind and solar projects, and integrated offshore wind and green hydrogen projects, with a total combined capacity of 4 gigawatts.

The parties will join their efforts to develop a green hydrogen supply chain, focusing on production in Abu Dhabi and export to the Netherlands through the port of Amsterdam.

The planned projects within the Trans Permian H2Hub include hydrogen bus manufacturing, H2 re-fueling stations, green and blue hydrogen production, ammonia and methanol production, solar and wind power, and metropolitan bus transport projects in the major cities.

The agreement will see the companies examine the potential to supply renewable electricity from Ørsted’s Hornsea offshore windfarm projects to power future Neptune-operated hubs in the UK North Sea.

The investment includes a $10.64 million commitment made by ING Corporate Investments. The deal also includes a further $5.32 million co-investment from existing shareholders Shell Ventures, Chevron Technology Ventures, Evonik Venture Capital and HydrogenOne Capital Growth Plc (HydrogenOne).
